GATB

GATB

Has anyone ever written this? I am just curious if it is similar to the PATI. I know that it adds english, but what about the math and so on.

If you're scoring well on the PATI math (75% or higher) you will do fine on the GATBs math portion. The tricky part about the GATB is that you could score 94% but still fail because you did not complete enough questions, I liken it to "Stress testing" that some of the U.S. services use. The pencil and paper GATB tests unlike the PATI in that it is not one 90 minute test, the GATB is many individual tests with a series of questions that seems impossible to answer every single question in the short period of time given. You need to answer as many correctly as possible. Flash card training is useful for applicants who are preparing to write the GATB tests, the math questions aren't complicated, typically they're: 426 + 209 = ???

If you can answer questions like the above quickly and in quick succession, you will achieve standard scoring.

TestReadyPro has an entire section dedicated to the GATB and I highly recommend it: http://www.testreadypro.com/GATB.aspx

I was browsing through today and realized I never gave an update for this thread.

I wrote the GATB and passed it quite easily. I found it fast and easier than the PATI for sure, but you still had to be able to think fast through equations. I then went through the interview stage and took a look through what this site had to offer in the way of interview aid; and it helped me prepare nicely for the interview to which I also passed. The next stage was the fitness testing (1.5 mile run and all that jazz) to which I did quite confidently since my physical conditioning is very good. Monday I go to the doctors for my medical checkup and after that I just wait by the phone for a phone call with my fingers crossed.

Thanks to those who helped me with some of the questions I needed to ask along the way. :geek:
